The fatale landslides in Likorachi forced the inhabitants to abandon the village and built a new one in 1973. The newly established village, Kefalochori, is located where Divoika stream meets Sarantaporos river. Despite the fact that Likorachi was a traditional village of craftsmen, the new Kefalochori is an active village that bases its economy in agriculture and livestock. The Folklore-Historic Museum in Kefalochori is the depositary of the tangible and intangible heritage of their ancestors. Although collapsed and abandoned, the stone buildings of Likorachi on the high slopes of Mt Grammos constitute nowadays a testimony of the interaction between built and natural environment.
