Τhe eldest used to say that Pyrsogianni is the village that produces mellow wine and virtuosos craftsmen. Just above the join of Gorgopotamos and Sarantaporos rivers, this pictureque village was established in the 17th century. Pyrsogianni is the birthplace of the most famous and skilled craftsmen who spread their fame as far as Persia, Sudan and the United States, participating in the construction of monuments with universal value. It used to be one of the most prosperous villages and nowadays is one of the most well-preserved. Being aware of their precious legacy, the locals preserve it with various actions and spercially with the new established Ethnological Museum of the Craftsmen of Epirus which aims to promote and safeguard its tangible and intangible aspects.
