Gorgopotamos is named after the homonymous riverbed. 'Bouloukia' of woodcarvers and carpenters spread their art during the 18th and 19th century. Nowdays only few of the traditional monuments are still stand in the village, preserving their beautiful woodcarvings. Moreover, the magnificent wooden pieces of their art are scattered to the whole Balkan Peninsula.
